Wu-Tang Wisdom
I was legitimately obsessed with Wu-Tang when I was in high school. Every single album and every single individual MC album among all the members. Constant rotation in my car. Sorry I’m not sorry for you all you Gen Z’ers who have no clue who that is. Tighten up if you don’t. One of my favorite artists, Cappadonna, wasn’t technically a part of Wu-Tang but he was one of the affiliated artists and he has one of my favorite simple musical lyrics of all time.
“I came to the fork in the road and went straight.”
Simple, very powerful if you ask me and while silly, I think about it often. Very regularly, we are presented with what we perceive are the black and white choices. Stay in this job, or quit it and find something else I know I won’t love. Think about your life. What choices would most people view to be binary, and just maybe, ask yourself is there a third unconventional option that while riskier might serve you better?
Common pathways of travel are designed to create order and predictability, but they are not for everyone.
The box contains a lot of opportunity for success and happiness, but outside of it is often where the real prizes lie.
