What is Our Periodization Plan?

We would like to take a second and acknowledge September 11th. Everyone has their own political views and during this time, we are more divided than ever in our beliefs. Today, hopefully as Americans we can be unified in our love for this country, remembrance of the tragedy of that day, and how it brought us together. We are still capable of that which is what will always make this country so great.

Today’s blog…

This year has presented an obvious amount of challenges to the gym and our operations, and we took the position early on that we wouldn’t let dogma or “how we’ve always done things” prevail over common sense. Specifically, we weren’t going to try and force structured goals in a particular training cycle because structure is not something we’ve been able to enjoy right now while the government continues it’s…thing. We have elected to stay away from the constraints of “back squats every Tuesday” and instead enjoyed free flowing, dynamic and multi-faceted strength training based on how that week presents our ability to do so. Our only priority right now has been and will continue to be well rounded movement. Strength where we can build it, muscle where we can grow it, and conditioning wherever we can develop it. A diverse mix of all of our tools and movement planes and a varied prescription of rep ranges and total volume.

While I anticipate that at some point we will return to the more set structure of the four to six week cycles we previously deployed, for now, we will continue to flow with COVID-19 variance rather than swim against it.
