WED: OB Member Standouts of BLOCK 2

Jewell Roth

Jewell is a regular at the 6:30.  It might be dark outside, but she carries in a ray of sunshine every time she strolls into the gym.  Her positive energy effects every member around her as well as her coaches. To go along with her infectious personality Jewell is a terrific mover and is constantly dialing in little technical improvements. Jewell is also a tenacious competitor.  Jewell started the cycle off by claiming the #1 spot on the 800m Leaderboard. On Re-test day, she was beat in the class prior to hers.  Knowing that, she didn’t shy away from the challenge. Which would be understandable considering how brutal the 800m can be.  Nope, she took it on and blitzed a 2:32, good to reclaim that #1! Jewell is still just scratching the surface of her potential and big things are on the horizon.

Grant Potter

Grant Porter has been a terrific member since the moment he joined. He is very humble, respectful, and helpful towards other members. Grant takes coaching and applies it extraordinarily well.  Particularly with picking up Olympic Weightlifting, which we all know can drive you mad, Grant was methodical and made unbelievable progress from week to week on both Cleans and Jerks. He has also begun to step over into the realm of timed challenges, really pushing himself to find that next level. He completed Mr. Blond which takes technical proficiency, strength, endurance and above all, mental fortitude. We are very excited to see all of Grant’s progress, and everything he has to come in 2019.
