WED: OB December Members of the Month

Andrew Spathas

Since day one, Andrew has been eager and all in to becoming stronger paired with increasing his mobility.  He has certainly improved in both of those areas, but he has also taken a huge interest to Olympic movements. Particularly the snatch where we’ve seen Andrew excel at a rapid rate.  He is soft spoken, humble and always a pleasure to coach and be around, while looking for feedback to consistently get better.  With that being said he is starting to tap into his natural abilities while improving his strength and it’s only the beginning of what we will see from him inside the gym.  Andrew made the leaderboard for “Triathlon”, made his way to 225# for working sets on his Back Squat, as well as Snatched 115# with ease after doing them for the first time this cycle. With a month like that, we can only expect to see a ton of progress and results from Andrew in 2019!

How old are you, and where are you from?
24. Born and raised in Point Loma.

What do you do for work?
I’m a Realtor. I help people buy or sell homes across SD. Who needs one?? I’m your guy ;)

What do you do for fun outside of P360?
Anything at the beach really. I play beach volleyball a lot and will still play in tournaments in OB every summer. I played indoor in high school and club in college, but my knees can’t hang on a court anymore.

How has P360 affected your life?
It’s definitely given me more structure in my life and I finally feel like I’m back into a solid routine daily with my workouts. Aside from that, I’ve really began to focus and understand why we are doing the workouts we do and how they are improving my overall health.

What are your favorite, and least favorite exercises?
My favorites: hell trots, RKB swings, dead lifts, med ball slams.  But my most recent favorite is hang snatches! My least favorite: assault bike 100%

What is the hardest thing you have done, physically, in the gym?

Stefanie has been working really hard since the joining the gym and steadily pushing herself to remain challenged. In the last few months, she has made some serious progress with not only her conditioning, but her strength as well, setting and SMASHING goals.  The hard work and diligence every class to get better in both tiers has turned the corner for Stef. She’s is still finding out just how strong she is, going into the last squat cycle with a goal of 200#, she listened and trusted her coaches and found herself hitting a top set of 205×5!
