We’ve got a very full plate today with different news, events and info that really encompass the “Train. Eat. Play” slogan of the gym. Tons of stuff coming this week and in the future so let’s just dive right into the goods!
Yoga Tomorrow!
As a reminder, yoga starts tomorrow guys and at NO COST for the first day we want all who are thinking of trying it to come on out! You can sign up for it on the schedule, here.
If you have a yoga mat please bring it. If not, then bring a beach towel and if you don’t have either then Sarah has told us you will still be okay. She’ll be feeling everyone out the first time through so come with complete confidence that you’ll be able to do it!
Pritz and I have our first session with our member/friend Dee today and we’re both nervous. Let’s all get out of comfort zone and give yoga a try if you’re first timers like us, and if you are seasoned vets then give it a try and let us know how we’re doing.
Surf n’ Turf Boot Camps
We have a lot of new members ask us what the best combination for goal is and as usual, we always say “it depends”. That said, we want to continue to push those of you who prefer a bit longer, more traditional cardio-based workouts to try our Surf n’ Turf Boot Camps. They are not like any other boot camps in the area as we use the full range of equipment our gym has to offer so you’ll work every single muscle group while also getting a great cardio component to your workout. It’s a great compliment for those of you are really targeting fat loss and toning as your primary goal.
Give ’em a try. They run everyday at 7:30 am and 6:30 pm.
Del Mar Mud Run
Awesome, guys! We have 15 people so far that our joining our P360 team and we’re very excited. It’s going to be a really fun time where all fitness levels are welcome. It’ll be a great time where we’ll flex our muscles both on the course and in the beer garden afterwards.
Here are the complete instructions on signing up if you haven’t already!
Member Shout Outs!
Seriously, I think the gym needs to be collectively tested for PHDs. Whatever has gotten into you guys, we like it. A lot. These accomplishments are getting to be no joke, so keep it up. Give them a read and congratulate your fellow members next time you see them around.
Good Eats: Greek Pesto Burgers
This is a great recipe that’s another one of those ‘throw everything into a bowl’ types that we all love. No one wants to use six different appliances to create a good, healthy meal and this one is ready to grill in about 10 minutes.
- 2 lbs. ground beef or turkey
- 8 oz. feta cheese
- 1 diced red onion
- 1/2c chopped basil
- 1c pesto sauce
- salt & pepper
- 1 head iceberg lettuce
Simply combined all of the ingredients into a large mixing bowl and form patties to your size preference. This should make between 6-10 burgers depending on how large you make them, and then either grill them on the stove top in a frying pan or on the grill. Wrap them up in lettuce as the bun and enjoy.
Class Times
Thanks to all who provided feedback on the class times last week. As our membership continues to expand we will be rolling out the current Tuesday/Thursday schedule on a permanent basis. Date is not yet concrete, could be as early as next week but we’ll give you guys as much notice as possible. By doing so, we’ll have extra times for each day and will create extra class space.
Trivia Winners
“How many dimples are on a golf ball” winner: Jin Han
“How many muscles are in the ear of a cat” winner: Heather Dentz & Andrea O’Donnell (tie)
Jin’s entry into the lotto is pending his membership and Heather/Andrea will receive one a piece since they tied.
Weekly Training Split
We’re doing two P360 Signature Workouts this week so for those of you anxious to re-test The 600, now’s your chance! We’re excited to see everyone’s improvement over roughly a two month period.
Let us know what questions, comments or feedback you guys have.
