Lori Talman

Lori is one of our founding members in OB, and has been such a blast to have in class since the day that she started. Always asking questions, looking to improve, and friendly to her classmates, Lori is a shot of positivity into every class that she takes. You can now find Lori heading up social events and gatherings for our entire OB community.

How old are you, and where are you from?
You should never ask a woman her age!!  But I am 34 years young and was raised in the small town of Bullhead City, Arizona.

What do you do for work?
I work as a bartender, manager, and front office at a dental office.  I also do teach yoga, but not at a studio, yet!

What do you do for fun outside of P360?
I love doing Yoga, hiking, camping, rock climbing, going to the beach, and hanging out with friends and family,  pretty much anything outside and in nature I am game!

How has P360 affected your life?
Not only has it made me stronger and healthier, it has also brought great new people into my life that I may not have every met here in OB.

What are your favorite, and least favorite exercises?
I hate Burpees!  hate hate hate!!   I do enjoy power cleans, could be because that is the one that I actually know how to do!

What is the hardest thing you have done, physically, in the gym?
I like trying those special workouts (the Mr. Green, Silver etc)  Those challenge me and push me harder then I would push myself.

What is your most proud achievement at P360?
Besides this?! Probably the pull ups.  I know I will continue to improve on them, but I had to use the BIG band when I first started.  Now I can do some without and use the smallest band when needed!!

What is a hidden talent of yours?
Not many hidden talents but I can clap with one hand!  A little weird but cool I guess.  right?!

What is an embarrassing fact most people don’t know about?
That I sleep with a stuffed animal, a purple manatee named Mr. Snuggles.

If money was no concern, what would be your dream job?
A job like Anthony Bourdain had would be amazing!  travel, eat, and drink in different countries!  Yes please!

What is the biggest overall improvement you’ve made, since joining P360?
Jerks.  I never understood the movement but I think I am slowly getting it and better.

What’s your favorite song to sing out loud/karaoke go-to?
Sir mix a lot Baby Got Back! or some Shania Twain.  Depends on the mood and crowd!

What is the most valuable piece of coaching you’ve received?
Honestly it is the encouragement that I get when I don’t believe I am strong enough.

Which public figure or celebrity would you put in the dunk tank?
Kanye West.  Do I need to explain this one at all!? ha

What’s your favorite place to eat in San Diego?
Man we have so many great places here it is really hard to pick.  It depends on what I am in the mood for.  Mitch’s has the best fish tacos in SD!  Third corner is prob my go to for sure though.  Great food and great wine.

What famous person (alive or not) would you  most like to have a drink with and what would you buy them?
Bob Marley.  I would buy him a red stripe for sure and talk story about his life and how it was growing up in Nine Mile.

What are your Top 3 movies of all time?
Three movies that I will always watch when they are on would be:
Mean Girls
OverBoard or Captain Ron
Pretty Woman

Do you sleep with the sheets tucked in or out?
I start with them tucked and usually end up with my feets hanging out the bottom of the bed.

What’s a funny story from your childhood?
I have been handcuffed before, and not in the kinky kinda way!  I am a daughter of two cops and my sister and I would fight all the time.  My parents got sick of it and handcuffed us together for the day.  We had to do everything together, chores and all.  Little did they know my hand was so small that I could slip my wrist out and get away from her.  They never found out and thought it helped us not fight.

What’s your favorite naughty food?
Mac and cheese!!!  If it is on the menu I have to at least try it once, maybe twice!

If you could travel to any point in the past, where would you go?
The Wild West.  Riding around on a horse, cowboys and outlaws everywhere.  Wide open land.  You had to be a bit of a bad ass to make it back then.  I love to go back and see the old towns that still keep the wild west feel.  Must be a Zonie thing.

What’s your favorite thing about training at P360?
The community that we have!  I have met the best people and coaches there!

What is your biggest goal moving into 2018?
To continue getting stronger and healthier.  Also keep meeting amazing people.

Chris Davies

Chris has been an outstanding member since the day that he joined, working hard in every class he is in and instantly making himself a favorite of the coaching staff for well he listens and his high coachability. Recently inducted into Level 3 Barbell Club, Chris has been slowly and steadily building his strength and we’re excited about seeing all the ways that he continues to improve.

How old are you, and where are you from?
32, Folsom CA

What do you do for work?
I’m an Electrician.

What do you do for fun outside of P360?
Hang out with friends, camping, concerts, comedy shows and exploring Baja to name a few

How has P360 affected your life?
It has made fitness a part of my routine.

What are your favorite, and least favorite exercises?
Favorite rotates around various barbell movements, right now digging the clean. Least is ANY version of plank.

What is the hardest thing you have done, physically, in the gym?
I think it was “Mr. White”, because early on I was a disgrace on the erg.

What is your most proud achievement at P360?
Leaning the technique and gaining proficiency on my Olympic lifts.

What is a hidden talent of yours?
I can down a pint of beer faster than most people.

What is an embarrassing fact most people don’t know about?
I have a horsefly tattoo on my ass….it was for charity.

If money was no concern, what would be your dream job?
I would be a small scale Rancher.

What is the biggest overall improvement you’ve made, since joining P360?
Mobility for sure, front rack wasn’t even an option when I first started.

What’s your favorite song to sing out loud/karaoke go-to?
I’m from Folsom so has to be Johnny Cash!

What is the most valuable piece of coaching you’ve received?
“There’s a reason it’s in the fucking olympics”- Dusty, on the snatch

Which public figure or celebrity would you put in the dunk tank?
Any Kardashian would be great, thanks.

What’s your favorite place to eat in San Diego?
It changes but City Tacos comes to mind.

What famous person (alive or not) would you  most like to have a drink with and what would you buy them?
Theodore Roosevelt, with a bottle of whiskey around a camp fire.

What are your Top 3 movies of all time?
Big Lebowski, Forrest Gump and Toy Story

Do you sleep with the sheets tucked in or out?
Out, I run hot in case you haven’t noticed all the sweat.

What’s a funny story from your childhood?
Messing with my grandma and lost control of her wheelchair boarding a plane in those tunnels. She came tumbling out saying every word a child should never hear.

What’s your favorite naughty food?
Pizza, no contest.

If you could travel to any point in the past, where would you go?
The 70’s for the cars and the music.

What’s your favorite thing about training at P360?
The variety, you all kill it on keeping the programming interesting.

What is your biggest goal moving into 2018?
Have a hard to draw Elk hunt this October in New Mexico with my best friend. A successful harvest is everything to me right now.
