Good morning, guys.  This Monday seemed to sneak up a little bit quicker than most, but that’s okay.  Summer is here and full force and the weekends are starting to consistently feel like San Diego.  Weekend was great aside from the USA loss in yesterday’s World Cup Final.  Would have loved to see our ladies bring home the trophy but what can you do.  I just know that I enjoy Alex Morgan…a lot.

Yoga Starts 7/26!

We are very happy to announce that our first yoga classes will start Tuesday, July 26th!  We are going to structure it by offering it one day a week to start with one class in the morning (6:30 am) and one in the evening (6:30 pm) so that we can pool all of those interested.

Sarah Redding will be teaching our yoga and comes to P360 with a ton of passion for teaching and some good experience.  She is a former athlete and very highly recommended instructor whom we’re excited to introduce.  Her classes will be a blend of a few different styles and should be a nice compliment for your regular training.

First Tuesday will be totally free! This class will be for all levels so come one, come all!  It will be perfect for those of you who have wanted to give yoga a try but not felt like dealing with going to an actual yoga studio.  Consider this your safe haven and yes, I’m looking at you fellas.

You can sign-up for the class via our regular scheduling once we have it up later this week.

After the first week, cost will be $10 drop-in to start or you can add it to your membership package for $19/month unlimited.  Both of these prices will only be going up once we start to add more classes so this is a great opportunity for our members to get in early at our lowest price.

If you drop-in, you can either bring cash or we can just manually bill it on the information we have for you on file.

SUP Starts 8/5!

We’re just cranking ’em out for you guys!  Stand-Up Paddle classes are going to be right behind yoga, starting on Friday, August 5th and these are going to be a blast.  Concentrating almost entirely on core strength and balance they will be a completely different workout than both Surf n’ Turf Boot Camps and Daily Challenges. You’ll get a lot of good shoulder and arm work, as well.

The first class will be Friday, August 5th at 6:30 pm and like yoga, will be totally free! You’ll be able to sign-up in the way you can with everything else.  We figured Friday night would have a laid-back feel to it and not disrupt everyone’s individual routine.  Your thoughts?  Would you prefer a weekend or other week night moving forward?

The cost will be $15 drop-ins each time after that.  We will ultimately have an unlimited option to membership but for now we’re going to see how it goes.  If you have a board it will just be $10.

Wounded Warrior BBQ – Saturday

Our Wounded Warrior Benefit BBQ is this Saturday from 12 – 2 pm and it should be a good time.  Pritz and I will provide some meat to toss on the fire, and we’re encouraging everyone to bring a side of their own to share with the group.  You can either get creative with it by coming up with an original recipe or you can always go to Von’s and pass something off as your own.  It’s all good.  If it’s P360 diet approved then we’ll feature it in our next newsletter.

We’ll provide a case or two of beer but please bring a 6-pack of your favorite brew to share with the group.  We’ll put out the cornhole boards, maybe some horseshoes, definitely some tunes and just all hang out for a bit.

For those who feel up for it, we’ll be taking the crew over to our friends at Sneak Joint after for some more fun.

Come one, come all and bring any friends that you want.

Good Eats: Carbless Spaghetti Marinara

I’m a recovering pasta junkie and it’s important to me that I have an option that makes me at least feel like I am eating carby goodness, otherwise I’ll end up in a dark alley passed out with fettucine all over my shirt.

  • 1 spaghetti squash
  • 1 jar low-sugar marinara sauce
  • 1 pack spicy Italian chicken sausage (diced)
  • chopped onions, mushroom and spinach
  • chopped basil
  • 3 TBSP olive oil
  • Parmesan cheese

How to shred the noodles

This is a ridiculously easy recipe.  Take the squash and poke holes all over it with a fork.  Then, microwave for about 7-10 minutes and make sure to rotate half way through.  Once it’s cooked and cooled, cut it long-ways down the middle and de-seed with a spoon.  Then, using a fork you’ll shred the squash to create “noodles”.

In a separate frying pan, sautee all of the ingredients together for 3-5 minutes.
