Victor Olavarria

Victor came to the gym as a very literal newbie to this strength training. He wasn’t scared to learn and put the work in, and he wasn’t deterred by finding things difficult and working his butt off to pass Phase 1 and get progressing along to building some serious strength. He has not only put on considerable muscle and added numbers to all of his lifts, but he has also become proficient in the more technical movements and really pushing himself in new ways every day. Let’s not forget he’s a pleasure to coach and a great member to have in class.  He also might be able to do the best American Sit-ups we’ve seen.  Congrats Victor!

How old are you, and where are you from?
31, from Kirkland, WA

What do you do for work?
Drum teacher

What do you do for fun outside of P360?
Hang out with Kami and our dog Bella, go to the beach, go to Disneyland, hang out with friends and play board/card games

How has P360 affected your life?
Nick and Megan convinced us to try it out, I had never done any type of gym like this before. After I started becoming familiar with everything, it started becoming a part of my day that was non-negotiable, to the point that I changed my sleep schedule pretty drastically to be able to get to the 6ams when my teaching schedule changed for the summer. Now I have way more time during the day and my days are way more productive. So it’s had a pretty positive all-around effect

What are your favorite, and least favorite exercises?
I don’t know if I have a favorite, I just like finishing a class and feeling like I made improvements on whatever it was we did that day. I hate the single arm kettlebell carries though haha, I always have knots on my forearms after doing those

What is the hardest thing you have done, physically, in the gym?
The only thing that comes to mind is the kettle bell squat test we have to pass when we first join. I think it took me three times

What is your most proud achievement at P360?
This applies to all the movements but the deadlift motion has been pretty tricky for me to figure out. A few weeks ago was the first time I felt like I was starting to get it

That these movements take years to master. That’s really helped me get in the right mindset and approach the workouts with the goal of trying to improve my technique a little bit each time instead of trying to add more weight every time I work on something.
