Brian Annen.
Brian has been a consistent member for over a year and from day 1 he has immersed himself in classes and the community. He comes with such a positive attitude, great energy, and he is one hell of an athlete. When he came to P360 he was fairly green to barbell movements, and rather than get frustrated or shy away he worked on his strength, mobility, and put time into learning the technical aspects of weightlifting. It has shown with some impressive numbers in the gym. Recently he smashed a 300# Back Squat and a 455# Deadlifts, and now his cleans and front squats are primed and ready to see huge jumps in this new block. Brian also happens to be the one of the top leapers int he gym. If you have seen him in class doing any form of leaping, you know what I’m talking about. It’s translated to a 57″ box jump which is good for the Level 4 Flight and he has aspiration for higher. So let’s all tip our cap for a job well done. Congrats Brian!
How old are you, and where are you from?
28 from San Diego, CA
What do you do for work?
Serial Entrepreneur. I’ve been living the retired life for the past 6 months after I sold my holding company that owned the factory that makes RockTape and KT Tape. Now, I’m launching 3 new companies in the next 60 days.
What do you do for fun outside of P360?
Golf, hiking, bowling, tennis, volleyball, drinking ice cold coors light (brewed in only Golden, Colorado), pretending I’m sophisticated while wine tasting, and hittin’ the craps tables in Vegas.
How has P360 affected your life?
P360 has given me a community that I can rely on to help me reach my fitness goals. I’ve met some awesome people at the gym and everyone is so encouraging. I’ve learned different movements and picked up a ton of valuable information from the coaches. In all seriousness, I joined the best community out there…and it happens to be a gym.
What are your favorite, and least favorite exercises?
My favorite is the deadlift. Such a great movement and I feel strong af while doing them. I also love box/broad jumps. When I first started, I hated anything that had to deal with front rack, but quickly learned the benefits and learned to enjoy it. But, my least favorite will probably always be that damn assault bike, but it sure is humbling. Also the so-called “400m” sprints in OB which are definitely longer.
What is the hardest thing you have done, physically, in the gym?
Mr. Pink. Pull ups are already hard enough, then you throw in running in there….it’s just a doozy of a challenge.
What is your most proud achievement at P360?
Being able to get in the correct front rack position. After listening to the coaches and working on my form, I was able to increase my clean weight by over 100lbs.
What is a hidden talent of yours?
I’m pretty good at woodworking. I built my dining room table which is an exact 1/18 scale of the UNC basketball court.
What is an embarrassing fact most people don’t know about?
I wore a dress and fake boobs on a bus in Europe. You know, your classic eurotrip story.
If money was no concern, what would be your dream job?
This is too easy. I’d be a maintenance man at a sweet course, work in the wood section of Home Depot, or be a lawnmower anywhere I got to use a John Deere riding mower.
What is the biggest overall improvement you’ve made, since joining P360?
My front rack mobility. When I first started at P360, I couldn’t get my elbows anywhere near shoulder height.
What’s your favorite song to sing out loud/karoke go-to?
Take me home country roads by John Denver

Which public figure or celebrity would you put in the dunk tank?
LaVar Ball
What’s your favorite place to eat in San Diego?
Embargo Grill if I’m trying to be semi-healthy. But I really can’t resist a nice California burrito from Nico’s.
What famous person (alive or not) would you most like to have a drink with and what would you buy them?
James Bond. I’d buy him a Vesper martini with 3 measures of Gordon’s, one of vodka, half a measure of Kina Lillett, shaken very well till it’s ice-cold, and garnished with a large thin slice of lemon peel.

Casino Royale, She’s Out of My League, Can’t Buy Me Love
Do you sleep with the sheets tucked in or out?
Out, otherwise my bed radiates like a furnace.
What’s a funny story from your childhood?
When I was a baby, apparently my family and I were at what is now OB Surf Lodge for lunch. My sister was supposed to watch me, but I crawled away and crawled right through the bars on the patio. Dropped straight down into the bush below and several bystanders came running over including a man on a bike who fell off his bike when he saw me fall then came running over. My whole family didn’t know I was missing until they saw all the people gathered around the bush. Got pulled out of the bush without a scratch on me and a big smile on my face. Nice going fam.

California burritos or pretty much any sour candy on the planet.
If you could travel to any point in the past, where would you go?
I’d go back to the summer of 1962 in the San Fernando Valley to play ball with the boys from the Sandlot and pet the beast. I’d probably also make moves on Wendy Peffercorn.
What’s your favorite thing about training at P360?
The fact that we never repeat workouts. Some movements are the same but we never do the same circuit which I think has really helped challenge my body and fitness.
What is your biggest goal for 2019?
With the new barbell club standards, I want to challenge myself to earn a spot in Barbell Club Level 3 as I see it as a great benchmark for not only strength, but overall fitness as well. I missed test day for box jumps last block, but coach Nick can be damn sure I’m coming from his record later this year.
Audrey Shutts.
Audrey is one of the most unassuming, soft spoken, and absolute sweetheart in the gym. Let’s not confuse that with doesn’t absolutely kick the shit out of workouts and push herself to the limits. Audrey has taken on the gym with such great passion it’s showing in her performance numbers. You will find her up on the leaderboard for the Triathlon, She recently destroyed our PPB “Forrest Gump” (ya know, the one with all the 800m runs and burpees), and she is hitting PR’s on every barbell movement she’s put her work in. She seeks out coaching, asks for feedback, and applies it seeing instant results. Did I mention she has gone from never doing any weightlifting before joining, to successfully cycling Cleans, Jerks and Snatches in conditioning tiers?
One last thing we love about Audrey, she has the most impressive and amazing t-shirt collection. We’re super stoked on all of her progress, and simply can’t wait to see what the rest of 2019 has in store for her.

How has P360 affected your life?
Aside from improving my fitness it has helped me gain self confidence.
What are your favorite, and least favorite exercises?
My least favorites are the bear crawl which I find cruel and unusual, and ring dips/ring push ups…I’m still waiting for those to get easier. My favorites are front or back racked lunges, rowing, and single leg RDLs.
What is the hardest thing you have done, physically, in the gym?
I don’t remember exactly what we did but It was a group thing where together we had to do 50 or 100 reps of stuff with burpees or squats in between. I just distinctly remember trying to decide whether I was going to run outside or to the bathroom to puke. Luckily class ended before it came to that.

What’s a funny story from your childhood?
My mom likes to garden and she used to grow zucchinis and sometimes we’d end up with humongous ones and one time there was the this huge one that I dressed up in doll clothes and put a face on it and named her Zucheely. That was fine except I stashed her away in my closet and forgot about her until my mom found a strange liquid seeping out of my closet.
