“HOW I GOT PAST MY INTIMIDATION AND FOUND MY GYM HOME”
Membership Length: 92 Days
“The experience at P360 has been amazing, I wish I would have found it sooner. This gym treats you like a real person with goals, not just another face in the crowd…
..I was nervous about the barbells and the weight lifting, it’s always been something I’ve been interested in but I was pretty nervous about it coming into it. The great thing is they help you build a foundation before you ever start lifting heavy weights and I really like that.
It’s been an amazing experience and I couldn’t see myself going anywhere else. I have found my gym for as long as I am in San Diego.”

“HOW I GOT IN THE BEST SHAPE OF MY LIFE AT 41”
Fat Loss: 12 Pounds, 6% Body Fat
“My P360 epiphany happened with my first use of the Body Composition Anaylzer in April. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, it’s the scale with the handles at Crown Point and I couldn’t recommend it more highly.
It was an unexpected kick in the face. I had a rough idea of what I weighed, but the other stats were a little disheartening to say the least. It led me to really start tracking what I’m doing in and out of the gym.
I’ve never been a group workout guy, but what P360 has going on works for me. Anyone that knew me prior to joining the gym is pretty surprised at how big a fan I am. I see people of all shapes and sizes doing some pretty amazing things…”

“HOW I LOST 40 POUNDS AND REGAINED MY LIFE”
Fat Loss: 40 Pounds
“The truth is, I got really depressed, it was the first time I had been away from my family, I had ZERO friends, and really had no clue what I was doing with my life.
I looked to food to console me. A burger here, a cookie there. Whenever I was sad, I would eat.
Two years later I got on one only to realize I had gained about 40 lbs…”

“HOW I FOUND INCLUSION WITHOUT PITY”
“Often times inclusion devolves into pity being mistaken for empathy. The past four years have been spent getting up to train at 5 am every day so I wouldn’t get dirty looks for taking too long on machines/weights and finding empty parking lots because gyms didn’t want my chair “ruining” their basketball courts.
I’ve been so grateful to find a home @performance360 that insists I train together with the class and demands success. Faster, leaner, stronger, hungrier, and happiest I’ve ever been while training.”

“HOW I USE FITNESS TO BE A STRONG MOM”
Membership Length: 6 Years
“I’ve had two children since I’ve been a member here and worked out at P360 through my entire pregnancy under the guidance of the coaches.
I always wanted to be the kind of mom who could keep up with their kids and run around with them. Being outdoors with my boys, going to the beach and playing, all have been made so much easier because of P360.
In addition to the physical side, mentally, having the gym as a place where I can clear my head and get my daily therapy has really helped me be the best mom I can be.
I’ve done things here I never thought I would be capable of and it’s a big source of pride for me.”

“HOW PERFORMANCE HELPED ME GO FROM SELF DOUBT TO SELF LOVE”
Results: 10 Pull-Ups, 14:01 2 Mile Run, 300# Deadlift
“When I was younger, I hated my body. That’s a terrible thing, to not love the vessel you are given. To not appreciate how it looks or how it works. I knew I did not want to be sad. I had to make some changes. I started researching about healthy foods and exercise that truly carries over into my philosophies about health to this day.
I love being a part of Performance360 and what it does for me, mentally and physically.”

“HOW I LOST 37 POUNDS AND BEAT TYPE 2 DIABETES”
Fat Loss: 37 Pounds
“My scariest moment was when the doctor said I was inches away from Type 2 Diabetes and that he would have to diagnose me at my next visit if things continued. I was crushed for about three months, but then decided to get off my ass and finally do something about it. In mid-January 2017 I joined P360.
After nine months of coming to the gym three times a week I lost 27 pounds. My triglyceride levels went from 250 to 115 (normal range), glucose from 143 to 121 (normal range), and LDL Cholesterol from 118 to 98 (optimal range). The biggest and scariest numbers were my A1C levels. These went from 6.3 (6.5 is Type 2 Diabetes) down to 6.0 which is considered normal due to my physiology. During my follow-up visit nine months into my new P360 lifestyle, my doctor was astonished.”

“HOW I WENT FROM SKINNY RUNNER TO BUILDING 30 POUNDS OF MUSCLE”
Muscle Gain: 30 Pounds
Timeline: 100 Days
“I had always just identified myself as a runner but since joining P360, all of that has changed. To start, I was really nervous getting my feet wet in strength training. I didn’t understand a lot of the terminology, which has always held me back from other gyms in the past but P360 made is so much more welcoming…
..It’s cool because people I haven’t seen in a while will tell me that I look bigger and stronger, and that’s fun for me because I have always thought of myself as a skinnier guy. It’s definitely something that I am happy about and appreciate.”

“HOW I CHANGED MY MINDSET FROM BURNING TO BUILDING”
Muscle Gain: 15+ Pounds
“After college, I was hired with Men’s and Women’s Health magazine as an editor / project manager. Total dream job. Ironically, little did I know working for a health and wellness brand would open Pandora’s box. I became consumed with being as lean as the women that came in for shoots. These women that, most likely deprived themselves of food and had a production team editing their already washboard abs all to meet our culture’s fucked up standard of beauty.
A standard that I fell victim to…
…Now when I look in the mirror, I see a happy, confident, strong woman full of potential.”

“HOW I SHIFTED FROM WANTING TO BE SKINNY TO WANTING TO BE STRONG”
Membership Length: 4 Years
“Not many people at the gym know my history, but I dealt with a pretty severe eating disorder back in college. I was down to a deathly scary weight of 88lbs (on a 5’8” frame) and was hospitalized for 3 months…
..The change in my mindset, in my opinion, has been my biggest accomplishment. I am no longer scared of “putting on muscle.” It’s all too common of a thought that if a girl puts on muscle, she will be bulky and look “too much like a dude.” Instead of the desire to be skinny, I now have the desire to be healthy and strong.
I admire strength in woman more than I ever have before and strive to continue down that path.”

“HOW I USED BARBELLS TO BECOME HAPPY AGAIN”
Muscle Gain: 13 Pounds
“By joining P360 my mindset has evolved significantly. When I first joined the gym, I was an avid runner and fitness bootcamper. Prior to joining, I had left an abusive relationship, and was using exercise as a coping mechanism. I was running as a way to deal with grief, and in the process overdid it. I got double stress fractures, one in each leg, and hurt my shoulder as well.
When I joined this gym, I was welcomed not only as a beginner, but also as part of a community. I quickly met some of the best people, and received amazing coaching advice from coaches who were, and still are, so willing to help me work around my injuries.
Exercise then became about being happy and healthy again, and I credit that all to the community that is P360. I found a group of people who not only thrived in the gym, but also genuinely cared about me. I stopped running away from sadness, and found peace with barbells.”

“HOW MY BODY FAT WENT DOWN WHEN MY STRENGTH WENT UP”
Fat Loss: -4.8% Body Fat
Muscle Gain: 6 Pounds
“As much as we like to think we know everything, we don’t. For years I was always hearing I don’t eat enough and I work out too much, but I was too stubborn to change my ways. Change isn’t easy, but in moments of doing the things I hated, that’s when I changed the most. I had to learn how to become more comfortable with being uncomfortable.
As a result, I’m in a much better place both physically and mentally because of P360.”

“HOW I LOST 52 POUNDS BY JUST SHOWING UP”
Fat Loss: 52 Pounds
“I didn’t realize I was trimming down until my family and friends started asking me what I have be doing since I last saw them. Everything changed except for my socks, they still fit. My legs, stomach, chest, and arms all started to slim down and somewhat started showing a little definition, emphasis on little.
It’s about the baby steps. I realize it is progress and that’s always a good thing. I haven’t found the magic beans that allow you to do one push up or sit up and everything is tone all of the sudden. It takes work and a slow and steady approach.”

“HOW PERFORMANCE TRANSFORMED MY PHYSIQUE”
Fat Loss: 4% Body Fat
Performance: 300# Deadlift (started as total beginner), 6:02 Mile
“Training wise, I have always focused on barbells and strength training. I have been attending classes 3-4 times a week.
I took the time to do every movement, ie. pushups, pull-ups, anything with a dumbbell/kettlebell, etc., with purpose, rather than being sloppy and moving as fast as I can, and challenging myself with adding more weight here and there.”

“HOW I GOT IN BETTER SHAPE THAN WHEN I WAS A COLLEGE ATHLETE”
Fat Loss: -6.8% Body Fat
“Before moving to San Diego and joining the gym, I hadn’t really lifted weights in about 7 years. I stayed in shape primarily between a combination of Insanity, P90x, and running a couple times a week. I had pretty much given up on the idea of ever really feeling anything close to how I did when I was a college athlete. Now I feel as good as I did back then, if not better.”

“HOW BEING STRONG HAS MADE ME MORE CONFIDENT AT WORK”
Membership Length: 4 Years
“I do life skills training for people who live with rare, chronic diseases so building relationships and having confidence is very important for me. It’s also very stressful and I found myself putting my own needs on the back burner.
Joining the gym has been very critical in getting back my mental and physical well being. At first, you notice your clothes fitting better and that gives you a little confidence boost. Then it’s little things like carrying luggage through the airport, my posture and how I look in photos are more confident.
My confidence has gone up so much since I’ve been a member at P360 and I really credit this gym for that.”

“HOW I MANAGE MY HEART CONDITION WITH GOOD COACHING”
Membership Length: 1 Year
“I was born with cardiac issues at birth and I’ve had heart surgery before. I’m currently on medication for it and there are some days when the workout has to be modified for me. The coaches make it so easy and have been really supportive modifying whatever I need. It allows me to keep working out and pushing myself while still being safe, and it makes a world of different to my physical and mental health.
I initially joined P360 just as a compliment to help my rock climbing hobby, but now I like it so much here I come just as much if not more then I go climbing.”
