We’re back with another edition of P360 members of the month. For those new to how this process works, our stuff huddles up every month and nominates members that stood out to each of us as inspiring, fun to coach, great attitude towards their fellow members and most importantly, working hard towards noticeable progress.
Runners Up
This month, our staff nominated Jake Giles, Marissa Dubolino, Lindsay Vaught, Spencer Sciarrone, Jackie Hade, AJ Judd, Bri Hancy, CJ Houston and Jarrod Collins. Well done, guys.
Male Winner: Steve Roma
Steve has been a member for more than a few months now, and he has been working towards his goals non-stop. Although quiet in his classes, Steve is always asking questions about how we can get the most out of his workouts and it’s beginning to show in his lifts. His form, weight and workouts have improved drastically since his first months and Steve is well on his way to reaching his goals.

Age, where are you from?
I’m 26, and I’m originally from St. Louis, Missouri
What do you do for work?
This is a complex question for me, I’m finishing up a yearlong pastoral internship here at St. Paul’s Lutheran in PB, and then I will be heading back to St. Louis to finish my 5th year of graduate school to get my Masters of Divinity.
What do you do for fun?
I really enjoy doing things outside, like surfing, playing sports, riding my bike, riding motorcycles, and camping, just to name a few. When it’s time to be inside, I enjoy watching movies, and having a beer and watching the game (football or baseball).
Favorite and least favorite exercise?
Favorite –pull-ups, hang-cleans, and squats.
Least – Overhead Squats, thrusters, burpees, running
What’s the most valuable bit of coaching you’ve received at P360?
I don’t know if I can give exact quotes, but while asking Dave about how to work around my tight lower back, he said, “Don’t think you have to do or be good at every lift. Not everyone’s bodies can do everything, you just gotta work around those things and improve in the lifts and areas that work best for your body.”
On another occasion Robby told me that, “just because it looks like you’re doing a lift correctly to me
What is your most proud achievement at P360 so far?
While my squat isn’t breaking any records, my mobility and weight have both improved sense I joined P360, along with many other core lifts. I also made Prison Yard Level 1.
What’s the hardest thing you’ve done physically at the gym?
I never remember any of the names of the workouts, but there was one workout early on that just killed me. Hardly anyone in the class finished it and I’m pretty sure I cried a little while doing it. I don’t remember what we did and I don’t remember who the coach was, but I do remember that that was the first and only time I’ve ever heard a coach apologize about the workout.
If money was no concern, what would be your dream job?
This will give you a preview for one of the hidden talent questions, but if money were no option I would try to be a full-time actor. Both film and stage, I enjoy performing in either medium.
Embarrassing fact most people don’t know?
I’m terrified of being scared, or in other words, I’m scared of being scared. For that reason, up until this point in my life, I have successfully avoided all haunted things, hayrides, houses, etc.
Hidden talent most people don’t know?
Most people don’t know I sing and act. I just enjoy performing; it’s a thrill of mine to be in front of people.
If you were an ice cream flavor, what would you be and why?
My favorite, Half Baked from Ben and Jerry’s. It has chocolate and vanilla ice cream, and also brownie chunks and cookie dough. You just can’t go wrong with that combination of ingredients.
If you could teleport to any point in the past, where would you go?
I think it would be amazing to be in America at the end of WWII. The patriotism of our country must have been unreal.
Favorite naughty food?
Sweet – A warm chocolate, chocolate chip brownie with a scoop (or two) of vanilla ice cream on top
Salty – A brisket sandwich from Iron Pig. Oh, the Texas toast! (Which would just be called toast if we were in Texas.)
What’s the biggest overall improvement you had made since joining?
It’s not easily measured, but my most overall improvement has been my lifting endurance, which has drastically increased since I joined P360. My knowledge of lifting and proper technique has also greatly improved.
What was your favorite cartoon growing up?
Rocket Power, Transformers, Hey Arnold, and Doug.
Famous person you’d most like to have a drink with, and what drink would you buy them?
I would love to sit down with Frank Sinatra, over a glass of Jack Daniels on the rocks. I’d also like to sit down with Martin Luther (not Martin Luther King Jr., although that would be a good one too), over a nice big stein of beer.
What’s a funny story from your childhood?
I really wanted to be a robot one year for Halloween, and my dad said he would get me a robot costume. So, on the evening of Halloween, as my brother and friends were getting into their costumes, my dad brought this big box upstairs from the basement, I was so excited to see what the robot costume he got for me looked like. When I opened the box there was nothing in it but 3 holes, one in each side. I looked up at him and he said with a smile, “it’s your robot costume!” I looked down in it and realized my robot costume was a cardboard box, with some orange spray paint on the sides, and foil for legs and dryer vents for arms. Unfortunately, the foil didn’t stay on and the dryer vents were too long, and by the 3rd house all I was wearing was a box, with my arms, legs, and head sticking out of it. So, for Halloween at the age of 7 years old, I went out trick or treating as a box.
Which public figure or celebrity would you like to put in a dunk tank?
All of those “reality T.V.” families. Those shows are such a waste.
You have one song and movie on a desert island. What are they?
Music – I’m currently on a kick of Gabe Dixon music and right now I really like his song, “Till You’re Gone”.
Movie – If I had to pick one movie it would have to be a movie I watched a kid called, “The Court Jester”. It’s a really old movie, but it’s funny.
What is your biggest goal for the rest of 2015?
In life, my goal for the upcoming year will be to graduate from grad school. In terms of the gym, as I move back to St. Louis to finish up school, my goal is to stay consistent in my gym attendance and to continue to set goals for myself and do my best to achieve them.
Thank you to all the coaches who have had a part to play in helping me reach my goals! Y’all work so hard to make us all better!
Female Winner: Anna Hollenhorst
This month, we had a near unanimous vote for Anna Hollenhorst. It was her third month in a row of being called out by our staff for her hard work. Anna shows up regularly and always makes it known she is trying to get better. Her development over the past few months has come at no surprise as it’s evident she has a ton of natural athleticism and strength. Always working hard in her class and listening to her coaches, Anna has recently hit PRs on her clean (150#) and hang clean (145#) and is constantly in the Top 10 on timed benchmark workouts.
We’re very proud to have Anna and congratulate her on all of her hard work.
