This month was an incredibly hard decision as each passing month brings about more amazing accomplishments and more people doing them. However, the member of the month is not entirely performance based. While relative achievement is always a factor, so too are attitude, dedication and interaction with fellow members.
This month, we have two very worthy winners in what was an incredibly tight race for both genders!
Without further ado, let’s recognize and get to know each winner.
Mo Armijo
Mo is a staple of the 6:00 am class, always there, working hard and going about her business in a hardworking, unassuming manner. She pays careful attention to her coaching, works really hard on her form and the reward for her has been a steady stream of PRs over the last few weeks, including a 205# 2R deadlift at her tiny frame!
Mo is always positive and a popular member amongst her class members. She always says thank you and is one of the easier members to coach, always immediately implementing what we suggest to her.
Mo is very deserving of the award and we are excited to present it to her!

How old are you and where are you from?
I’m 21 and born and raised in San Diego!
What do you do for work?
I am a third year Human Biology major at UC San Diego.
What do you like to do for fun?
I love trying new recipes, reading and hanging with family and friends.
What are your favorite and least favorite exercises?
My favorites are deadlift, burpees (yay burpees), and squats. But,
my favorites change from day to day! I don’t really have a least favorite
exercise, but if I had to choose….box jumps. One time, I ate it on the
box, and ever since, I fear the box out of respect and opt for the tire :)
What is your most proud achievement at P360?
Besides improving on major lifts like deadlift, squat, and cleans, I am
most proud of being a part of such a supportive gym community. The coaches
and members create an environment in which one person’s success is a win
for everyone!
What kind of workouts do you most enjoy at P360?
I love the multiple tier workouts and any workouts that include
rowing/rows. But, most of all, I love the workouts that look nearly
impossible on the board and then at the end of 30 minutes, they have been
demolished.
What workouts make you utter curse words to yourself?
During almost every workout there is a point when I set the barbell down
on the ground and literally want to stick my middle finger in the air.
But, the most foul workouts that make me curse would have to be any
workouts with anything more than an 800m run haha.
What’s an embarrassing fact that most people don’t know about you?
Sometimes instead of working out, I want to T-WERK
out because the music gets me so exicted! In regards to daily life, I
sometimes say “meow” when in awkward situations.
What’s a hidden talent most people don’t know about you?
I play an instrument called bassoon, and have been since I was in
middle school. From middle school to my second year in college, I played
for a symphony as the lead bassoonist. My friends tell me the instrument
looks like a bong. Cool.
What’s your favorite cheat meal?
Frozen yogurt–heavy on the toppings, light on the froyo. Taco Bell. French Fries.
What’s the biggest improvement you have made since joining?
Since joining, I learned that exercise should not be your life, but rather
enhance your life. You do not have to PR every day or compare yourself to
people going hard and lifting heavy. It’s just about you and doing what
feels right for your body.
Famous person with which you’d like to have a drink, and what are you drinking?
Beer pong with Bob Marley.
You have one song to listen to on a desert island. What is it?
Three way tie between “Do I Wanna Know” by the Arctic Monkeys, “Timber” by
Ke$ha and my boy Pitbull, and “Drunk in Love” by the Queen– Beyonce (it
has an undeniable beat that makes me want to slow grind).
What is your biggest goal for the rest of 2014?
Stay happy and healthy and enjoy my recent admission into the 21 and
(turnt) up club.
Wow, this is so cool! Thank you so much. I am so thankful for having been
chosen! Thank you and the other coaches for creating such a wonderful
environment to workout in!
John Blackburn
John has been a member of Performance360 for a little over two years now and his dedication has always been impossible to miss. Recently, John took a step back from his training and really analyzed where he wanted to go with everything. The result has been complete demolition of every single one of his old PRs, over 20 pounds of new muscle and on the fast track to leader board contention in just about all lifts.
Most recently, John has set PRs in a 405# 2R deadlift, 255# 1R Jerk, 2:39 half mile sprint, 1:31 500m row and nearly cleaned 245#. He is always positive, eager to receive feedback and put simply, regularly works his ass off to improve.

Mullholland Drive by the Gaslight Anthem.
What is your biggest goal for the rest of 2014?
To see what’s in the tank. I can say with disdain that I don’t feel I have ever truly tested myself. This year I will find out how far I can push myself and my goal is to try and compete in the 2015 SoCal CrossFit Regionals.
Thanks, guys! This is effing awesome and I am honored at the recognition.
