We’re back with another edition of Performance360 Members of the Month.

As always, the member of the month award is decided by our coaches getting together and nominating who stood out to us each in the areas of attitude, effort and performance. We take pride in our votes and take the handing out of member of the month quite seriously. To win it means an individual stood out above hundreds of other hard working folks and is truly deserving of the honor.

Congratulations to our runners up:  Nichole Kroes, Sam Epsteen.

Peggy Travis

Peggy has been working very hard since the first day that she joined in February. It took her a little while to gain consistency and traction, but once she did around October her results started to take off. Overall, Peggy is down 30 pounds (Level 3 Lean and Mean) and has seen her strength vastly improve, most recently reaching her first goal of Level 1 Barbell Club. We’re very excited to see what’s in store for Peggy in 2016!

Get to Know Peggy

Age, where are you from?
35, Narragansett, Rhode Island

What do you do for work?
RN in Hematology-Oncology

What do you do for fun?
Anything Outside. I have 2 kids so fun has changed a bit. ;-)

Favorite and least favorite exercise?
Squats (fave) and Burpees (least fave)

What’s the most valuable bit of coaching you’ve received at P360?
Tear the floor apart with your feet when squatting. Or Deadlift is a push not a pull. That bit got me into Level 1 barbell.

What is your most proud achievement at P360 so far?
Honestly, I was insanely excited to deadlift more than 200 lbs. I never thought I would ever do that.

What’s the hardest thing you’ve done physically at the gym?
I still struggle with cleans. The day I get a pretty one with big weight will be my victory dance day.

If money was no concern, what would be your dream job?
I am doing my dream job. But I miss working with children instead of adults. However it would be amazing to just go hang out with cancer patients instead of working. Volunteer to read kids books, bring warm blankets.

Embarrassing fact most people don’t know?
My husband was supposed to be a one night stand. But clearly it didn’t stick.

Hidden talent most people don’t know?
I make the best Ramen noodles ever. Hangovers cured instantly.

If you were an ice cream flavor, what would you be and why?
Coffee. Because what is better than coffee?

If you could teleport to any point in the past, where would you go?
I would have said something fun, but I’d be lying. I would give anything to say goodbye to my Dad.

Favorite naughty food?
Cheeseburgers. Or gnocchi.

What’s the biggest overall improvement you had made since joining?
I know this sounds lame, but I LIKE working out now. I get grouchy when I don’t go. When I used to run or just diet I wasn’t into it. So for me, this was a life change.

What was your favorite cartoon growing up?
The Little Mermaid.

Famous person you’d most like to have a drink with, and what drink would you buy them?
Maybe Prince Harry because I bet he has a very interesting view of the world. And scotch.

What’s a funny story from your childhood?
I walked in on my Dad getting a blow job in the living room on Christmas eve. Talk about an akward Christmas morning.

Which public figure or celebrity would you like to put in a dunk tank?
Oprah. She annoys the shit out of me.

You have one song and movie on a desert island. What are they?
Movie… Braveheart.
Song… Otis Redding’s Sittin On the Dock of the Bay (The irony would make me laugh.)

What is your biggest goal for the rest of 2015?
Well, since I only have a few hours I am pretty sure that involves a bottle of champagne. For next year, my goal is to travel and get the last 20 lbs off. I have have had 4 years of being pregnant or a new mom, I need a vacation and some fucking sleep!

Spencer Sciarrone

Spencer has been a member of the gym for a little under a year now.  After a brief first stint at the gym in 2014, Spencer came back in January of this year and since then he has excelled at most everything that we offer. Spencer is a regular in the midday classes and is nice to everyone in his class. From day one, Spencer has been an extremely coachable member of the gym and for that reason is a favorite of the coaching staff. Most recently, Spencer got himself into both Level 3 and Level 4 Barbell Clubs, some rarefied territory and an accomplishment that is not achieved by many at the gym. This month he has hit PRs in his deadlift (455#), squat (340#), clean (225#) and jerk (225).

Age, where are you from?
22, Fresno, CA

What do you do for work?
I cook & run food at Flemings Prime Steakhouse.

What do you do for fun?
Hiking, working out, talking about the universe, doggie paddling in the ocean, & crashing weddings.

Favorite and least favorite exercise?
My favorite has to be a tie between back squats and cleans and my least favorite is watching Dusty and Sam do Olympic lifts because it makes me sad.

What’s the most valuable bit of coaching you’ve received at P360?
Julianne really knows how to get to me, she’ll just whisper a little “you can work harder” or “I was using that weight also, just sayin'” and that will get my motor runnin’.

What is your most proud achievement at P360 so far?
When I first wrote my name on the wall for level 1 barbell, knowing where I was mentally and physically just a few years prior, it was such an accomplishment.

What’s the hardest thing you’ve done physically at the gym?
Besides the 1000 rep workout that ruined everyone’s life, I’d have to say trying to run a sub 6 mile made me feel bad things (I didn’t get the sub 6).

If money was no concern, what would be your dream job?
I would probably take pictures of dogs all day.

Embarrassing fact most people don’t know?
I sing karaoke at bars from time to time by myself, and also for years I’ve been consistently writing down the funny things I hear, see and say as stand up comedy material, you can decide what’s more embarrassing.

Hidden talent most people don’t know?
I’m a little rusty but I could name all of the US Presidents forwards and backwards.

If you were an ice cream flavor, what would you be and why?
Cookies and cream because who the fuck doesn’t like Oreos.

If you could teleport to any point in the past, where would you go?
When someone stole my bike on garnet ave a few months back, I wouldn’t have missed the tackle and landed on my face in front of everyone again I’ll tell you that much.

Favorite naughty food?
Bags upon bags of Hot Cheetos with Lime.

What’s the biggest overall improvement you had made since joining?
Probably just my confidence in myself when it comes to trying new movements. This place is where I learned first hand that if you apply yourself and believe in the work you put in anything is possible.

What was your favorite cartoon growing up?
I’ll probably catch some flack for this because I’m a “baby” but I love Hey Arnold!

Famous person you’d most like to have a drink with, and what drink would you buy them?
Jamie Foxx, we’d be gettin loose off the goose.

What’s a funny story from your childhood?
When I was growing up my neighbors were maybe the craziest people on planet earth and I was 12 years old playing basketball in my driveway and they hated the noise of either me having fun or playing basketball, so they blasted their garden hose over their fence onto me in the driveway, it’s so unbelievable now that it’s comical. (They don’t mess with me now when I go back home, thanks Performance360)

Which public figure or celebrity would you like to put in a dunk tank?
I’ll speak for the majority when I say Donald Trump.

You have one song and movie on a desert island. What are they?
Confessions part II – Usher (we need that on the gym playlist, get it together guys) and Forrest Gump.

A big congratulations to both Peggy and Spencer. Please make sure to congratulate both next time you see them around the gym.
