Congratulations to our male and female winners for the month of December!

Shakeel Lone

Shakeel has been picking the coaches brains’ since the first day he arrived at P360 in the constant quest for improvement.  Recently taking a real interest in his strength training, Shak has hit some pretty big PRs including a 305# back squat.  Aside from his work ethic, Shak embodies what we love to see in all members.  He is fun, interacts with his fellow class members and always carries with him a positive attitude.  Congratulations to Shak!

Age, where are you from?
31 years old, New York.

What do you do for work (or school)?
I’m an IT Project Manager with Accenture.

What do you do for fun?
You mean aside from lifting, right? Honestly, sometimes there’s nothing I love more than having the house to myself and playing music as loud as I want. I also enjoy going out for a drink or two with my friends, but only on special occasions (smirk).

What motivates you each day?
Past failures. When I miss a rep or fall short of a goal I’ve set for myself, it really bothers me. I try to harness that feeling as motivation to work harder.

Favorite and least favorite exercise?
Squats and presses make me happy. Rowing and running, not so much.

What’s the most valuable bit of coaching you’ve received at P360?
This is tough to answer because I’ve learned something valuable from every coach at P360. I will say that the ongoing conversations I’ve had about training with Dave and with Ashley about nutrition have taught me a lot and are a big part of the reason I’ve been able to achieve what I have since joining the gym.

What is your most proud achievement at P360 so far?
My sub 6 minute mile. It’s not an incredibly fast time by any means but, for a meathead who hates running, it’s something that I didn’t think I’d ever be able to do.

If money was no concern, what would be your dream job?
I’d love to own a distillery and make delicious whiskey.

Embarrassing fact most people don’t know?
I’m a huge nerd. I love old horror movies, cartoons, comic books, fantasy novels, and anything that involves wizards.

Hidden talent most people don’t know?
I do pretty good impressions of people.

If you were an ice cream flavor, what would you be and why?
Chocolate, duh.

If you could teleport to any point in the past, where would you go?
I’d go back to the late 80’s to see some of my favorite bands like Guns n Roses, the Misfits, and Metallica in their prime.

Favorite naughty food?
Aint no party like a pizza party.

What’s the biggest overall improvement you had made since joining?
I am really happy with the aesthetic improvents I’ve made over the last year. I was pretty overweight for a while, so it was nice to finally see my abs again. More importantly, I did it all while lifting heavy and not depriving myself of the foods I love.

Famous person you’d most like to have a drink with, and what drink would you buy them?
I would love to have a Budweiser with the Rock. He seems like a cool guy.

If you could retire and live one place, where would it be?
Byron Bay, Australia.

Which public figure or celebrity would you like to put in a dunk tank?
Drake. Enough already.

You have one song, one movie and one TV show a desert island are they?
Song- Last Carress by the Misfits, Movie- Lord of the Rings, TV Show- Twin Peaks.

What is your biggest goal for the rest of 2015?
My gym goal is to focus on improving my deadlift, squat, and press numbers. Outside of that, I want to do a better job of keeping in touch with people I care about.

Jenn Ciofolo

Jenn came to P360 as a complete beginner with no background in weightlifting at all.  Since joining, she has made amazing progress thanks in large part to her consistent attendance in Coach Maria’s P360 Speed Class, as well as regularly attending Daily Challenge classes and P360 Strength classes.  She most recently was able to deadlift 185# and is still making progress every time she shows up.  A great member who asks questions and is always smiling, Jenn is a member we are truly privileged to have with us!

Age, where are you from? 27 from Methuen, Massachusetts.

What do you do for work (or school)? I’m a structural engineer. I design concrete water storage tanks.

What do you do for fun? Travel, watch sports, go to concerts, read, dance and spend time with family/friends.

What motivates you each day? Setting goals for myself. I have always been a very motivated person as long as I have something to works towards. If I set a goal for myself I will put 100% of my effort into achieving it.

Favorite and least favorite exercise? Favorites are hang cleans and split jerks. Least favorite is rowing. 1000m rows are my personal hell.

What’s the most valuable bit of coaching you’ve received at P360? Being reminded to celebrate all personal victories. When I first joined it was difficult to feel accomplished by a PR when other people were lifting three times as much as me, so it is very helpful to have coaches around to remind me to focus on my own progress and goals.

What is your most proud achievement at P360 so far? 800m run in 2:59 and 185# deadlift

If money was no concern, what would be your dream job? Professional line dancer

Embarrassing fact most people don’t know? I religiously follow elite gymnastics. All those gymnasts that are in the spot light every 4 years during the Olympics I have been following for their entire careers

Hidden talent most people don’t know? Tap dancing

If you were an ice cream flavor, what would you be and why? Chocolate because its plain and simple but not quite as boring as vanilla.

If you could teleport to any point in the past, where would you go? The first Olympic Games in Greece.
Favorite naughty food? Cheeseburger, fries and a chocolate shake.

What’s the biggest overall improvement you had made since joining? Cleaning up my nutrition. When I finally sat down and read the P360 Nutrition Guide I learned so much about the things I had been doing wrong for years. Between changing the way I eat and deciding to not drink 4 days a week I am amazed at how great I feel.

Famous person you’d most like to have a drink with, and what drink would you buy them? David Ortiz. Red Bull vodka slushie. Followed by prancercising down the boardwalk.

If you could retire and live one place, where would it be? Somewhere in the Greek Islands.

Which public figure or celebrity would you like to put in a dunk tank? Peyton Manning

You have one song, one movie and one TV show a desert island are they? Bohemian Rhapsody because it is always fun to sing along to, Vanilla Sky because no matter how many times I watch that movie it makes me think and Friends because it never stops being funny.

What is your biggest goal for the rest of 2013? I usually eat exactly what I should about 75% of the time. My biggest goal at the moment is to change that to 90%.

Make sure to offer you congratulations to both members when you see them around P360!
