We’re back with another edition of Performance360 Members of the Month.

As always, the member of the month award is decided by our coaches getting together and nominating who stood out to us each in the areas of attitude, effort and performance. We take pride in our votes and take the handing out of member of the month quite seriously. To win it means an individual stood out above hundreds of other hard working folks and is truly deserving of the honor.

Runners Up

This month, we’d like to recognize Karen Higareda, MJ De Jonckheere, Lyndsay Boling, Belen Ramirez, Ricky Jiminez, Jarred Collins and Michele Faber.

Scott Rosecrans

Scott is a member of Club Forged and has been a Performance360 member for over two years now. Scott is the consummate silent hard worker, rarely drawing attention to himself but always busting his ass in every single workout. Despite his quiet demeanor, Scott is a truly engaged member of the gym, always talking to coaches and members, asking questions about what’s going on and providing feedback. At age 44, Scott is living proof that age really is just a number on a piece of paper.

Get to Know Scott

Age, where are you from?
I’m 44 and I’m from Crete, Nebraska. Which technically makes me an Ex-Cretian.

What do you do for work?
Senior Environmental Health Specialist with the County of San Diego’s Environmental Health Department. I pretty much drive/hike around the County reviewing proposed development plans.

What do you do for fun?
Right now I spend most of my free time coaching 31 Junior Pee Wee football players, which is a lot of fun. Skiing dominates my winter/spring months when there is decent snow.

Favorite and least favorite exercise?
Pull-ups have become my favorite exercise since joining the gym. That certainly wasn’t the case when I first started. My least favorite is overhead squats, but I’m attempting to remedy that by working on my mobility issues.

What’s the most valuable bit of coaching you’ve received at P360?
“Most” valuable is tough to come up with. It seems like I am always learning something new from all the coaches. Julianne’s restorative yoga and yoga classes have benefited me a ton, so I’d have to say that has been the most valuable to me.

What is your most proud achievement at P360 so far?
Getting into the Level 2 Barbell Club on my 44th birthday in June was my proudest moment so far. I never thought it would be possible when I first joined.

What’s the hardest thing you’ve done physically at the gym?
The time trail workout a couple months ago with the 800 meter sled drags to start and finish the workout has to be up there near the top. Thanks, Pritz!

If money was no concern, what would be your dream job?
I’d probably do what I do now, coach youth football and maybe other youth sports.

Embarrassing fact most people don’t know?
That my name, until about age 22, was pretty much not Scott. Everyone but my parents called me Rosey. Many of my old friends still do.

Hidden talent most people don’t know?
I am amazingly gifted in my ability to sustain broken bones. Next one will be number 14, not counting fingers.

If you were an ice cream flavor, what would you be and why?
I’d have to go with the soft serve chocolate/vanilla twist. I feel like it never gets old.

If you could teleport to any point in the past, where would you go?
~3000 BC, just to see how they actually built the great pyramid.

Favorite naughty food?
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Blizzard

What’s the biggest overall improvement you had made since joining?
My overall fitness level has increased dramatically. I used to think I was in pretty good shape, boy was I wrong. My diet/nutrition improvements are right up there too.

What was your favorite cartoon growing up?
I’m going with Looney Tunes.

Famous person you’d most like to have a drink with, and what drink would you buy them?
Bruce Lee, Bourbon on the rocks.

What’s a funny story from your childhood?
During gym class in 7th grade we decided it would be fun to put a plyo box in front on the basketball hoop and dunk some basketballs. I managed to get my hand caught in the net which basically caused me to fall backwards from about 8′ up, breaking my left arm and giving me a pretty good concussion. I was so out of it, I didn’t even realize my arm was broken until a classmate told me that my arm “looked funny”.

Which public figure or celebrity would you like to put in a dunk tank?
Where do you start? I’ll go Kanye West following his latest presidential comments.

You have one song and movie on a desert island. What are they?
Journey-Don’t Stop Believin’ for the motivation and Braveheart just because.

What is your biggest goal for the rest of 2015?
To get a little better each day.

Brie Hancy

Brie is on her second time around with Performance360 and is yet to waste a single workout. This month, she completed 10 strict pull-ups to get into Level 3 Prison Yard Club. She is a regular at the 6 am class and is constantly getting compliments from the coaching staff on her attitude and positive approach to her training. Always ready to crack a joke in her subtle Boston accent, Brie is one of the more fun people to have at the gym and we’re thankful she came back around.

34 in a few weeks! From Cranston, Rhode Island

What do you do for work?
I work in sales for a Halloween costume manufacturer

Least Fav – overhead squats. Mobility is a beotch on that one!

Toes out during squats! Life changing words of advice!

What is your most proud achievement at P360 so far?
10 strict pull-ups boyyyeeeeeee!!  Not stopping there though, mad work to do!

What’s the hardest thing you’ve done physically at the gym?
There have been a boatload of physically challenging things on a daily basis but for me it’s more mentally challenging. Finding that balance between pushing myself and being “smart”.

If money was no concern, what would be your dream job?
Being a personal grocery shopper! I could spend hours in the market! I love to look at all the different products out there, read nutrition labels and find good deals!

Embarrassing fact most people don’t know?
I still wear children’s pajamas. Snoopy, Oscar the grouch, betty boop! I know, my husband’s a very lucky guy!

Hidden talent most people don’t know?
Two words… Battle. Dancing. My moves may not be from this decade BUT I will murder you!

If you were an ice cream flavor, what would you be and why?
My fav  is coffee ice cream BUT if you were to describe me I would say fudge ripple… a white girl with some chocolate flava!

If you could teleport to any point in the past, where would you go?
To my own life 4 years ago with Hancy in Maui! A good mix of exercising and lounging with great food and beer… heaven!

Favorite naughty food?
I’m Italian! Pasta! Pizza!…. CARBS! Cereal… CARBS! Ice cream… CARBS!

What’s the biggest overall improvement you had made since joining?
Overall strength – mainly of the little surrounding muscles in my hips/knees/back. I have scoliosis so my joints/muscles/bones are out of whack and I am always at risk of tweaking something. I’ve been noticing that stuff that would normally kill me is getting less painful (ex. box jumps, running etc)

What was your favorite cartoon growing up?
So many 80’s cartoons! But if I had to choose just one… Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I actually wanted to dress like one so bad for Halloween one year that I smushed myself into a child’s husky costume. Every girl at the party is a French maid, sexy cop and here I am in a little boys costume with my eye mask and sais!  Pretty typical!

Famous person you’d most like to have a drink with, and what drink would you buy them?
Lucille ball. She was hilarious, beautiful and smart and I’d like to know how sick she really felt after eating all those chocolates!  She looks like a martini person, however I’d be having a beer!

What’s a funny story from your childhood?
I am about 14 yrs old… you know that age when you want to be cool but in reality you are awkward and self-conscious? Me, my family and my sister’s new boyfriend are all walking through Hershey Park and my loving sister proceeds to pants me, UNDERWEAR AND ALL in the middle of the park! I am so shocked that I am literally frozen in place until I come to and bend over (everything exposed) to pick up my shorts. Everyone else thought this was hysterical. Me? Not so much!

Which public figure or celebrity would you like to put in a dunk tank?
That chick Rachel from big brother. Most annoying human on the planet! Every time someone mentions her I automatically hear “FINISH HIM” from mortal combat.

You have one song and movie on a desert island. What are they?
Big momma’s house and Confessions by Usher. Isn’t that everyone’s?

What is your biggest goal for the rest of 2015?
Kill it! all day err day!! get healthier, stronger, faster… or as you guys say… BECOME MORE!
