Q&A

How old are you and where are you from?
I am 32 and originally from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

How long have you lived in San Diego and what brought you here?
I’ve lived in San Diego for almost 9 years. I’m pretty sure my San Diego move is similar to many others. I visited my best friend here, until I couldn’t resist it any longer and made the move.

How long have you been coaching at Performance360?
I Just started coaching at the gym after attending both the Winter and Summer Coach Academies, but I have been a member at this gym for five years.

What do you hope to accomplish with your coaching?
When it comes to coaching, I’d just like to relate to people and make them feel comfortable and proud of themselves.

What are your personal philosophies with fitness and nutrition?
My personal philosophies with fitness and nutrition is a mix of “different strokes for different folks” and personal responsibility. I urge people to be patient and open to seeing what fits them in the best way to form necessary habits for life. One’s fitness journey does not have to be a constant struggle.

With nutrition, I was 15 years old when it finally clicked that vegetables don’t come from cans and that Hamburger Helper isn’t the only dinner option out there. Since then, I’ve been motivated to keep myself healthy and active. I was a chubby teen and I experimented with unhealthy ways to be the “skinniest” I could be.

My biggest transformation to date, is my mindset. I love being strong, fit and active. I hardly weigh myself because it’s not about the scale, its about being proud of getting to the gym, moving, and just trying to be a better you.

What local food are you crushing and what are you ordering?
Roses Donuts! I will crush anything sweet.
