We receive two to three dozen member emails a day.  Most consist of basic registration questions or updates.  Every now and then we get one like this out of the blue that makes our month.

I can honestly say that I never thought I would be writing something like this a year ago. Since arriving in San Diego 13 years ago I have bounced from gym to gym for various reasons.  Like many people, I also ventured down the biking, running, swimming and even home workout paths that seem to be so commonplace with so many people in San Diego. Never during any of these endeavors did I ever feel at home, even when I was working out in my own home gym.  No surprise that my results were not ever quite what I wanted, but hey I was “going to the gym” or at the very least working out regularly, right?  I played sports off and on and maintained what I felt was a pretty active lifestyle.

On December 15th, 2012 I finally decided to try something new.  Searching for something more local, or at the very least more accessible, I kept coming back to the comments and testimonials I had read regarding P360. I decided to schedule my first trial week of workouts.  It was free, what did I have to lose?  I knew immediately upon walking in the door that this was a different animal altogether. People were interacting rather than staring at a television or jamming out with their headphones. Everyone was moving non-stop rather than posing in the mirror, resting between every set, or walking to the water fountain two dozen times in an hour. On top of this they seemed genuinely happy to be there. Dave and Pritz welcomed me and asked me a few questions. I filled out a single form and they left me to explore at my own pace.

No pressure, no sales pitch, no contract, and no hassles. There had to be a catch, right?

After a year I’ve yet to find the “catch”. What I did find is a group of dynamic, hard-working, fun-loving, supportive people who are striving towards individual goals in a challenging setting that provides the basis to reach those goals. After 217 workouts I am proud to say that, at 42, I am in the best shape of my life!

My approach to fitness has changed 180° and I honestly enjoy going to the gym now. Even the cardiologist at my annual treadmill physical in November inquired as to what I had been doing based on my year to year comparison.

Obviously this stuff works!

The icing on the cake is the inclusive social environment that exists within P360 and amongst its members. Whether it’s chasing Dave and Pritz around PB for free drinks, lounging poolside, getting decked out for prom, taking in a Padres game or pushing your limits during the P360 Olympics or the Battle of the Sexes there is always something new and fun around the corner. I have made numerous friendships during my first year at P360, something that rarely occurred whilst toiling in anonymity at various other “gyms”.

So, to those that are stuck in the same old routine, are not getting the results you want from your fitness regimen, or maybe just want to meet a whole bunch of really great people and have fun working your ass off (figuratively and possibly literally) I can’t think of a better place to do it than Performance 360! Big thanks to Dave, Pritz, Ashley, Raechel, Robby, and Julianne for all the support!
